MELBOURNE Youth Policy

So that we can provide a secure and safe environment for everyone, we are implementing our Youth Policy for 2024, which will form part of our Conditions of Entry and compliance for Liquor Licensing.

All patrons under the age of 18-years old MUST be accompanied and supervised, at all times, by a responsible adult.

responsible adult is defined as a person who is 18 years or older and is:

  • The minor’s parent, step-parent, guardian, grandparent, or
  • The minor’s spouse who is over the age of 18 years, or
  • A person who is acting in place of a parent and who could reasonably be expected to exercise responsible supervision of the minor - for example, a sporting coach.

A youth ticket must be purchased with an 18+ ticket, at a ratio of 1:1, that is, a responsible adult may supervise a maximum of ONE minor at the festival.

If a minor is found to be unaccompanied or unsupervised at any point, both the minor and their respective responsible adult will have their tickets cancelled and will be escorted from the festival site.

All responsible adults MUST also hold a valid ticket to Laneway Melbourne 2024.
