This indie pop band sounds like summer – and we could all do with a vacation. A DIY affair from the get-go, Newcastle four-piece Vacations first began when lead songwriter Campbell Burns started uploading demos to Tumblr. Before they knew it, the world started paying attention: legions of fans were growing by the day in Australia, the US, Canada and Europe and their huge international following soon became a significant part of the band’s mythology. Their success is all a testament to the escapist wonder of Vacations. With their third studio album on the way, Vacations is embracing a newfound confessional style of songwriting, and we think it looks very, very good on them.
