Chances are you’ve already heard the work of Elijah Manu. He’s half of Church & AP –  the young Aotearoa rap duo with the world at their feet. With more than 10 million streams on their breakthrough single ‘Ready or Not’, Church & AP’s distinctive and self-assured blend of rap fused with grime has done all the talking. But now its time to meet Elijah’s solo project, Church. Emerging from the Samoan diaspora in Tamaki Makarau, Church captures the feeling of existing in a cultural melting pot. His first solo album Spring ‘21 dropped in June 2023 – sounding fresher than ever, even three years after he was meant to release it. The last time Elijah graced the Laneway Festival stage was a surprise Church & AP set at the 2019 edition of Laneway Festival NZ. It’s only fitting that Church celebrate the release of his first full-length solo project with a slot on Laneway Festival 2024.
